Steve Pinder
Area Commercial Manager – Westpac
Steve Pinder is currently Westpac Area Commercial Manager for the Central Plateau & Gisborne. Steve emigrated to New Zealand in 2004 after spending 20 years working for NatWest/RBS in England. Steve’s Career in England took him from Office Junior to Front Line Sales then onto Local Authority Specialist Funding before making a change into Training & Development. His time in Training & Development cemented his passion around people capability, management and helping people to be the best they could be. After 3 years delivering training across the bank, he became Manager of his first Branch in Cambridge. Success there led to him being asked to Manage North West London, a much larger Branch. From there onto Senior Business Development Manager for Corporate Clients. Throughout this time Steve maintained his enthusiasm for Training and Development, Management and people capability.
This passion led to him being asked to take on the role of Head of Training & Development for Lombard, the Asset Finance division of RBS. While there he was involved in rolling out Management Development training, coaching skills and Core Courses. Having the chance to be a hands on Manager for many years then spend time with subject matter experts researching and developing Management training was invaluable to Steve.
In 2004 Steve and his wife decided to emigrate to Colleens home in Rotorua. In 2005 Steve then joined Westpac as Area Manager. While in Westpac, Steve has maintained his interest and passion for people and management. Participating and taking a lead in internal coaching programmes and still delivering training while running the Commercial Bank in the Central Plateau.
Steve brings 32 years of banking experience, many of those years in management with the added benefit of experience in people capability and management development.
